Did you know that there is a Sahir Cultural Academy in Ludhiana, the place of Sahir’s birth.

Sahir Cutural Academy is a registered society established for the promotion of arts, literature and culture. It was founded in the early seventies and now it is recognized allover the world for the literary and cultural activities.

The Society has organized more than 100 literary and cultural events which include Thirty Seven All India International Mushairas in which almost all top ranking urdu poets of the sub-continent have participated. Annual Musharia is held every year in memory of great urdu poet Sahir ludhianvi the great son of Ludhiana who as a legend makes India proud. This musharia is named as “ Jashn-e- Sahir Mushaira” and is considered to be the biggest poetical events of the year in northern India. Some people in literary and cultural circle call it ”Meeca of Urdu Poetry.”
