The vivacious and dynamic Zohra Sehgal was an Indian actress and choreographer.
Sehgal started her career as a dancer in Uday Shankar’s troupe and went on to appear in numerous Bollywood films as a character actress with a career-span of over 60 years. She is considered the doyenne of Indian theatre, and she acted with Indian People’s Theatre Association (IPTA) and Prithviraj Kapoor’s Prithvi Theatre for 14 years.
She traversed through her long life with a passion, which is contagious. Her contribution to the world of Urdu, Theatre and Cinema is unparalleled. At Mehfil we will discuss this fantastic woman and through her works and enigmatic personality we will discover some marvels of the Urdu language but more importantly we will unravel the secret to her fun filled life.
